Serra is a beautiful contemporary waterside home built in 2007 and moored at a full-time live aboard idyllic riverside mooring. Located within easy reach to London and excellent transport links - only 20 minute train ride to Marylebone.

Built 6 years ago as a motor-less butty, Serra's shell was constructed by the esteemed Reeves Boat Builders and built to a personal design inspired by historic butties as a floating, contemporary home. Serra's beautiful build with such interesting details lead to her being used as a featured boat in the Reeves adverts for many years. As an unpowered boat Serra benefits from a 50% license discount when paired with a motor boat.

Serra is a 65 ft full steel representation of a butty boat, with a slightly extended rear cabin and then a steel A-frame leading to a 7 ft cratch area.

Serra's interior was fitted by the designers and therefore attention to detail is apparent, quality materials and high specification equipment has been fitted throughout, no expense spared. The boat cost in excess of 50k to complete not including the 1000's of man hours and has been valued as such. The quality of finish is outstanding and indisputable once seen

Electrics and heating:
All wiring is marine grade tinned. General circuits run in 4 mm and 6 mm, the fridge runs in 15 mm and the battery cabling is 90 mm.
Webasto Thermo C central heating throughout, including Finn Rads within cupboard areas.

Layout from Stern to Bow:
Back deck - traditional rudder/Elm made in solid steel with small outside locker.

BACK CABIN
330 cm bedroom with hand built solid Oak wardrobe and Oak framed bed 4 ft x 6.3 ft with plenty of storage underneath. Radiator, portholes and a lovely, mini, multi-fuel stove which is fantastic for cosy winter nights. Forward from the bedroom through an oak door with brass door furniture and within the back cabin is the luxury 170 cm bathroom.

BATHROOM
Generous 4 ft x 3 ft shower with folding shower door, slate floor, Oak pelmet with modern surface bowl sink, and porta potti. 3 cassettes available. Moving forward into the A-frame area there is an extra wardrobe or storage cupboard beneath large open storage units and 120 litre calorifer which leads to a hand-built oak galley kitchen.

KITCHEN
265 cm, 12 volt fridge, space and plumbing for full-sized washing machine, large belfast sink, 600 mm x 600 mm built in Country Leisure oven/grill/hob. Work surfaces, floor and bookshelves are made of solid Oak. The galley also houses the Victron control panel. Forward from the galley we move into the open plan living space.

LIVING SPACE
There are 2 large side hatches built from antique Oak reclaimed from church pews. The hatches are such a beautiful feature - creating an amazing feel of space and air, opening the boat up to warm spring and sunny days.

The living space is an open plan saloon of 670 cm with 4 6 ft x 2 ft windows specially commissioned, with blinds to suit and contemporary radiators creating a further feature. As these windows are housed on the A-frame the give stunning views of the sky, trees, passing birds and peacocks. It has often been compared to a luxurious Manhattan loft apartment!

Towards the Bow solid Oak shelves and storage cupboards, again in Oak, with a built in car stereo, Webasto control panel, water level gauge, AC/DC circuit breakers, Voltmeter, 3 KWA Victron Multi Plus Inverter/Charger, battery isolation and cross-over switch. Through a set of double Oak doors is the cratch area.

CRATCH AREA
The cratch area is 7 ft and under canvas, it houses a 300 gallon stainless steel water tank (1400L) under the deck. There are 4 storage lockers, the port side locker contains the Webasto, the left front 145L diesel tank, the right front is empty (possible generator or extra storage space) the starboard side contains 6 sealed batteries wired in 2 banks allowing switching over from flat bank to full bank when necessary.

BOW
A generous sized gas locker containing 2 x 13 kg bottles.

Serra has been painted in British Waterways 'livery' in beautiful blues and golds with traditional frog-eye decoration on the stern doors.

Serra is aptly named after Richard Serra, the sculptor and its attention to detail and craftsmanship make it a beautiful metal sculpture. This is a genuine sale of a boat that has been enjoyed for 6 years and completely adored. Her first owners and makers had to sell to accommodate their growing family and we are having to move due to work necessities...
