| | Description |
| |
A traditional dutch barge, well converted in around 1960 with two double cabins and a Daimler-Benz 112hp engine, hydraulic bowthruster powered by secondary engine with generator, drip-feed Somy diesel heating. Converted for use on English canal system with holding tank, calorifier etc.
After 5 years of happy living aboard and visiting most of the broad canals in England and Ireland, I have a cottage by the river and don't need a large boat. It has a current safety certificate.

| | Engine(s) |
| |
Two engines: main engine is a 6 cylinder 112HP Mercedes Benz diesel OM232 installed around 1980. It was reconditioned in 2000 and still runs with almost no oil consumption. It runs a 4 bladed 24" prop which was replaced in 2006. A rope cutter is fitted.
The secondary engine is a 20HP Hatz which has two functions: it runs a hydraulic bowthruster and also drives a 5KVA 230V generator.
Both engines have closed watercooling using pipes fitted externally to the hull and a dry exhaust. |

| | Construction |
| |
The hull is traditional dutch construction with steel around a rivetted framework - the rivets are not observable on the outside. The cabin was added around 1960 when it was converted to leisure use. There has been some overplating on the forward part but mostly the original steel is still in good condition.
The roof has been modified for English waterways by being hinged, supported by gas props, so that the height can be reduced by about 5" which brings it down to the 8' which is critical for navigating many canals. The canopy at the back has been replaced by a windowed canopy which gives an extra room in warmer weather and enables the boat to be navigated without taking it down, with panels that can be selectively removed. |

| | Accommodation |
| |
The main part of the accomodation consists of a large open area, partially divided by a screen into a forward sitting area and a dining and kitchen area aft. You enter by a short wooden staircase with the kitchen on your left and bathroom on the right. There is a drip-feed diesel Somy heater in the far right corner and two high-level cupboard units and one low-level cupboard.
Water is supplied from a 1000 litre tank by pump with hot water heated either by a calorifier from the engine or an immersion heater. Cooking is via a two-ring stove with oven and grill with safety cutouts that was installed about 3 years ago.
The bathroom is small but contains a usable shower unit and basin and a Leesan toilet with holding tank underfloor. The shower is drained by an automatic pump and the holding tank has a deck fitting for pumpout or, if at sea, can be pumped out directly.
Behind the steering position is another semi-protected room which area makes a pleasant dining area in the summer. The canopy can be progressively removed - two side panels and a rollup panel at the rear. There is wooden seating covering storage on three sides. The storage include the gas-bottles for cooking. |
